Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman
Safadi met with Ilia Darchiashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, to
explore avenues for deepening bilateral relations and expanding collaboration
across various sectors.
The meeting, held on Sunday, focused on enhancing cooperation in economic,
trade, cultural, and investment fields. Both ministers expressed their
commitment to leveraging opportunities for increased tourism exchange, notably
with the forthcoming Georgian Cultural Center set to be constructed in the
Baptism Site area before the year’s end.
In addition to discussing bilateral initiatives, Safadi and Darchiashvili
addressed several regional and international issues. They underscored the
urgency of halting Israeli actions in Gaza and mitigating the resulting
humanitarian crisis. Safadi emphasized that resolving the conflict and
protecting Palestinian holy sites in Jerusalem is critical to preventing further
regional escalation.
The conversation also covered the ongoing Ukrainian crisis and its broader
implications. The ministers agreed on the importance of upholding international
law and maintaining a unified approach to safeguard global stability and support
multilateral efforts.
Looking ahead, both sides agreed to schedule a round of political
consultations to define cooperation priorities and further strengthen the
partnership between Jordan and Georgia.
