A meeting was held at the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Omar Barakat al-Nahar, to discuss activities and measures aimed at enhancing investment and trade relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan.

Executive Director of AZPROMO, Yusif Abdullayev, announced plans for a business visit by agency representatives to Jordan. This visit aims to effectively realize the potential of economic and trade relations between the two countries and to examine the trade and investment opportunities offered by Jordan. Abdullayev highlighted that the direct contacts and information exchange established during the visit will create a solid foundation for the effective work of the 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, and technical cooperation, which is expected to be held in May this year.

Ambassador Omar Barakat al-Nahar emphasized the necessity of renewing agreements regulating bilateral economic relations and discussed the opportunities presented by investment and trade activities in Jordan. He noted that Jordan's free trade agreements with the European Union, the United States, and Canada offer wide opportunities for Azerbaijani entrepreneurs to establish joint ventures in Jordan and subsequently export to these markets. Additionally, he highlighted the prospects for Jordanian entrepreneurs to access CIS markets using favorable bilateral trade legislation with Azerbaijan's neighboring countries.

During the meeting, proposals to hold a joint business forum within the framework of the 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and to implement direct flights for the intensification of bilateral business relations were positively evaluated.
