Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Omar Barakat Al-Nahar.

Ambassador Al-Nahar was greeted by Mrs. Gafarova, who congratulated him on the start of his diplomatic tenure in Azerbaijan and expressed her belief that bilateral relations would continue to grow during his mission. Mrs. Gafarova highlighted the 30-year history of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan, emphasizing the strong and friendly ties between the two countries and the opportunities for further cooperation in various sectors.

Mrs. Gafarova also discussed the importance of inter-parliamentary relations, noting their current high level and the significant role played by high-status visits and friendship groups. She appreciated the attendance of the speakers of both houses of the Jordanian Parliament at the Baku Conference of the NAM Parliamentary Network last year and the participation of the Head of the House of Representatives of the Majlis Al-Umma Ahmad Ali Safadi at the special National Leader Heydar Aliyev Centenary session of the Milli Majlis in May this year.

Ambassador Al-Nahar expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and stated his intention to make every effort to ensure the continued growth of bilateral relations during his ambassadorship. They also discussed other topics of mutual interest.
