Why create Jordan e-Government Portal?

Jordan e-Government Portal was created to provide citizens and business users with a centralized, consistent, speedy and efficient source of information on government services.

 
 
What browser should I use to view Jordan e-Government Portal?

The Government of Jordan site best viewed using Microsoft Internet   Explorer 6.0 SP1 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2.

 
 
What are the sectors covered by the Jordan e-Government Portal?

The Jordan e-Government Portal targets:

1.        Citizens.

2.        Business.

3.        Government entities, Government Employees.

 
 
What is Jordan e-Government Portal?

Jordan e-Government Portal is the core component of the e-Government Program in Jordan and the official site for the Government of Jordan on the internet, a 24*7, Bilingual and central portal where Citizens, Businesses and Government employees can search and find information and services provided by the Jordanian Government.

 
 
What is the objective of Jordan e-Government Portal?

The objective of the Portal is to create a central point of access to information about the services offered by the Government of Jordan. Ultimately the portal will be a "one stop shop" that is at the heart of user interaction with the government. It will provide a central framework for organizing and presenting information about services offered by the entire government. The portal is a sophisticated and interactive web-based application designed to reach targeted users with timely and accurate information and services.

 
 
What type of services the Jordan e-Government Portal provides?

The Portal provides all information needed to obtain any service: procedures, location of service provision, fees, average time of completion, service summary and guidelines.

 
 
Can anyone request, follow-up, and obtain a service from the relevant ministry/Gov agency, through the Portal?

No, the Portal currently only provides information about services, in terms of forms and procedures required to obtain the certain service. In the next phase, the Portal will evolve to offer transactional support for a wide set of eServices.

 
 
How can anyone explore the services and information provided by a certain ministry or government agency?

Each ministry/government agency has its own page on the portal that displays their available services and information and how to obtain them.

 
 
Does the information accurately reflect all the required procedures necessary to obtain services even when these procedures cross more than one government agency?

Yes.

 
 
Could the Jordanian citizen communicate directly with Government of Jordan officials? How?

Yes through the Ask the Government link in the Portal main page.

 
 
Do you intend to update the information on the portal and how often?

Yes.  The portal will be updated whenever a new service is introduced, procedures change, or a service is cancelled.

 
 
How can anyone obtain the latest Jordanian laws and regulations?

By clicking the link to the ‘Legislation and opinion Bureau’ in the portal.

 
 
How can business get information about ‘operations permit’?

You can obtain that information by clicking on the “Registering your Company" link in the "Operations Permit" section.

 
 
What are the required procedures to register a company?

To register a company, you have to register a commercial name and obtain an operations permit for it.

 
 
Who can advise me on starting a business?

What kind of services does the Jordan e-Government Portal provide for government departments and public sector employees?

The Jordan e-Government Portal provides its services to the government through three sections.

First: services offered by ministries and government departments to all other ministries such as the services offered by the Public Budget department and those offered by Ministry of Public Works.

Second: services offered by Ministries and government agencies to all public sector employees such as health insurance services offered by the Ministry of Health and human resources services offered by the Civil Bureau.

Third: internal services offered by ministries and government agencies to its own employees

 
 
Where can I find information about health insurance?

Health insurance is a service offered to all public sector employees and can be found under the “Special for Public sector employees – services and government forms" section in the portal

 
 
How can I benefit from the training courses and programs for the Public sector employees?

This service offered to all employees.  Relevant information can be found in the “Special for Public sector employees – services and government forms" section.

 
 
Do you update the forms that are available through the portal and can we download use them in Ministries and Government Agencies?

Yes, the forms for government services are constantly updated and can be downloaded and officially used in ministries and government agencies.
